Drought conditions continue to expand across central Missouri and southeast Kansas

Drought conditions continue to persist and slightly worsen across portions of the KZRG listening area.

The U.S. Drought monitor notes the hardest hit areas are around Fort Scott, Kansas, and Nevada, Missouri, and locations northeastward.

There is a bit of good news as the National Weather Service believes most locations are expected to receive over two inches of rainfall over the next week as a series of upper level disturbances move across the central U.S.
