A woman from Sarcoxie killed in construction zone crash near Fidelity on I-44

A woman from Sarcoxie died after a crash near Fidelity on I-44 west in Jasper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported 37 year old Cortney Johnson was driving westbound when her SUV was rear ended by a tractor trailer.   

According to the Patrol Johnson and other drivers were slowing down for a construction zone when the accident happened Monday evening.

The driver of the semi that caused the wreck was taken to a Joplin hospital with serious injuries

A total of 5 vehicles were damaged.
