Heavy winds overnight result in power outages, fallen branches

Thunderstorms that swept through the southwest Missouri and other areas of the Four States resulted in damage to trees and power outages late Saturday night and early this morning.

The storm line passed through the area for the most part after 1:30 a.m. and continued well after 3 a.m.  National Weather Service updates in that time period included warnings of winds of up to 80 miles per hour.

The following wind and damage reports were gleaned from various sources, including Springfield station KWTO:

Branches down in Carthage.

Power outages in Joplin.

Branches fallen on a house in Webb City.

58 mile per hour wind gust at Northeast Airport Drive.

69 mile per hour wind gust reported by amateur radio near Diamond.

62 mile per hour wind gust in Neosho.

Branches fallen in Granby.

Tree fallen onto an electric transformer in Anderson.

Trees down in the Goodman, Noel and Southwest City in McDonald County.

Power outages in and around Pineville.

Up to 200,000 residents without power in NE Oklahoma according to the Oklahoma PSC.

Branches fallen, roof damage in Delaware County, Oklahoma.
