NOTICE: Potential violation of livestock market regulations in Missouri

An obligation to pay for livestock, reportedly, isn’t being followed.

Livestock producers who recently sold animals in Sarcoxie, Missouri, near Joplin, and have not received payment from that sale, should file a claim with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

There’s concern that Schubert Livestock Sales has not fulfilled their obligation to pay producers selling livestock at their auction facility.

Someone damaged by the failure to pay subject to the federal Packers and Stockyards Act has the right to submit a claim.

Producers not paid have 60 days from the sale date to file a claim against the bond.

This includes non-sufficient funds checks.

The claim form is online, along with submission instructions at Agriculture.MO.gov.
