Two teens killed, four wounded in Boone County shooting
The Boone County, MO Sheriff’s office posted this news release regarding a shooting in Columbia, Missouri:
“On 06/04/2023, at approximately 12:47 a.m., deputies with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to investigate reports of shots being fired.
“Boone County Joint Communications received multiple calls reporting the shooting and callers indicated multiple people had been struck by gunfire.
“The initial investigation has revealed there was a party being held at a vacant residence . . . and it is believed there were dozens of people in attendance when a verbal disturbance broke out between two opposing groups.
“This verbal altercation then led to shots being fired. We have identified six teens who were struck by gunfire during this incident. Two juvenile teens, 16 and 17 years of age, were shot and killed. Four teens between the ages of 16 and 19 were shot; however, their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
“No suspects have been arrested at this time.
