Monett Chamber holds ribbon cutting for larger airport runway

The Monett Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for a new runway this [Saturday] morning.

The Monett Airport recently completed building the 6,000 foot runaway.

The new runway will allow larger planes to land and will help stimulate business use of the facility.

The project cost $30 million and was paid for through jet fuel tax and grants from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The airport currently brings in an estimated $13 million annually to the Monett economy.
