Morning-after pills available for free in Missouri

In an action sure to be opposed by many conservatives, nonprofit Missouri Family Health Council (MFHC) is making emergency contraception pill kits, also known as morning-after pills, free for anyone with a Missouri address.

The organization says the service became available on June 1st.

The contraception kits can be picked up in person at a total of 30 locations in Missouri or can be ordered online with free shipping in plain white packages without labels

Emergency contraception (EC) can be taken up to 120 hours or 5 days after unprotected sex to lower the chance of becoming pregnant.

MFHC is offering Free EC kits to anyone of any age. Locate a distribution partner near you below, or enter your mailing address into the form below to confidentially request a free kit by mail.

In Joplin, the EC kits can be obtained at Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region & SW Missouri 710 Illinois Ave., Joplin, MO 64801 or online at https://www.plannedparenthood.org/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri
