Joplin loses another Hardee’s location

Joplin is losing yet another beloved franchise location. The Hardee’s at 818 South Rangeline is closing its doors for good. This comes as a shock to some locals but not to the nation. Hardee’s franchise owners have been struggling to stay afloat in recent years as the cost of food production has gone up due to supply chain issues. The pandemic also sparked a severe decline in foot traffic across the country as lock downs took effect that many locations never fully recovered from.

Due to the nation’s turbulent economy a number of Hardee’s franchises across the county have been closing their doors. In May of 2023 one major franchise owner closed 39 of its 108 restaurants in Montana, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. They later filed for bankruptcy altogether.

Long time operating Hardee’s at 1810 South Main street in Joplin had shut its doors back in April of this year with little notice given to the general public.

Joplin had three Hardee’s locations but are now down to one in Joplin at 1641 West 7th Street, and one just outside of Joplin on State Highway 43.
