University of Missouri develops career accelerator
The University of Missouri is investing in the state’s workforce needs.
State and educational leaders say that Missouri needs more workforce training opportunities to be more competitive in attracting and retaining employees and growing economic investment.
The University of Missouri has developed a Career Accelerator, which provides non credit offerings, including online bootcamps, certifications, and customized workforce training.
The initiative aims to meet two goals by 2030, including increasing the labor force percentage to have a degree or certificate from its current 50% to 60%, and increasing work force participation from 63% to 70%, with an additional equity focus.
Missouri’s workforce has grown at an average rate of less than 1% over the last 15 years.
