Busick officially released from prison

Ronnie Dean Busick walked out of jail a free man today.

Busick, who was sentenced to ten years in prison three years ago in connection with the presumed murder of teenagers Loria Bible and Ashley Freeman and Freeman’s parents in Welch, Oklahoma in 1999.

Busick was let out of jail on good behavior by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

There were protestors at the prison.

An Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesperson says Busick was taken to the bus station around 6:30 a.m. There was no word on his destination.

The families of the missing girls had asked Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond to keep Busick in jail.

Drummond replied in a letter that he did not have the legal authority to stand in the way of the release.
