Spaghetti fight, leads to domestic battery arrest
The use of a plate of spaghetti as a weapon led to the arrest of a man from Parsons, Kansas for domestic battery.
On Sunday around 5:48 p.m., police were dispatched to a reported domestic battery in the 2300 block of Broadway.
When the officers arrived, they quickly discovered that the victim had been hit with a plate of spaghetti and been pushed.
Officers developed enough evidence to arrest Roy Louis Peterson, 60 of Parsons, for domestic battery. He was arrested and transported without incident.
Peterson has been arrested for the second time in two months for domestic battery against the same victim.
Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said,
“We have a problem in our community with domestic battery. It is equated to the Parsons dirty secret. There are programs and nonprofits that can help in a community our size, but it takes community buy into get them off the ground and running. We have a definite need for these places, but we need leaders in the community to take the charge and lets us partner with them to bring some help and education to the battered spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, and family members of the community.”
