Freeman Hosts CBCO Blood Drive

Blood Donations Save Lives Every Single Day

What: Freeman Health System hosts Community Blood Center of the Ozarks blood drive

When: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Where: Freeman West Conference Rooms inside Freeman Hospital West

Background: Blood donors, especially those who regularly give, keep the nation’s bloody supply stable. While natural disasters tend to initiate spikes in blood donations, blood is needed every day of the year. For example, a single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood, according to the American Red Cross.

On Wednesday, Freeman Health System is hosting a Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) blood drive. The CBCO is the sole provider of blood and plasma products to Freeman’s Joplin- and Neosho-based hospitals.

Individuals donating blood – up to once every 56 days – will receive a free T-shirt and a voucher for two free tickets to one of three attractions: The Discovery Center in Springfield; Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville, Arkansas; or Beyond the Lens! in Branson.

To avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged, though not required. Photo identification is required.

Please eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating.

Call 417.227.5006 or visit cbco.org/donate-blood to schedule an appointment.
