U.K. resident involved in traffic accident near Carthage

A man from England stopped a bit longer than he might have planned in southwest Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Michael A. Thorpe of of Golcar, Huddersfield, United Kingdom was driving a westbound 2023 Mustang about a half-mile east of Carthage on Highway 96 near Willow Road around 11:40 Friday morning.

The Patrol says he failed to yield to an eastbound Chevy Silverado driven by 31-year-old Estuardo Aguiliar Silvester of Golden City. That resulted in an accident.

Thorpe received only minor injuries in the crash. Silvester was not injured.

The Patrol completed the accident report and allowed the drivers to continue on their respective journeys.
