Southeast Kansas woman arrested after traffic stop

A southeast Kansas woman is under arrest following a Tuesday night traffic stop.

At around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday  night, a Parsons Police Officer and K-9 Morgan conducted a
routine traffic stop for defective vehicle equipment

The driver, later identified as Bryanne Biggs, initially gave officers a fake name. She was found to have a suspended Kansas driver’s license.

During a subsequent K-9 search of the vehicle, controlled substances that field tested for methamphetamine and marijuana were located.

Biggs was arrested and taken into custody for new charges and on outstanding charges in Labette County.

Charges were forwarded to the Labette County Attorney’s Office for review and charging for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances (Methamphetamine and Marijuana), Unlawful possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interference with Law Enforcement, Driving while Suspended, No Valid Proof of Insurance and Defective Equipment.

On Thursday, Biggs was appeared in Labette County District Court and received a $15,000 dollar bond and a future appearance date.

Biggs remains jailed pending bond.
