Carterville awarded grant for city’s generator project

Federal money is coming to help the city of Carterville, Missouri, improve it’s access to clean and reliable drinking water.
FEMA has announced that $42,857 in federal funds is now available for the completion of the city’s generator project.
The non-federal 10% cost share to be provided by the City of Carterville is $4,761 for a total estimated cost for the project of $47,619.
City Council member Cris Henkle says this money will go towards a generator for well #1 on Pine Street. She says well #1 will also receive updates to its metering and addition of technology that will allow the City to remotely monitor and control both wells.
