Parsons Police take driver into custody after high speed chase
Multiple charges requested
Aound 5:54 p.m. yesterday [Thursday] evening Parsons Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a reckless driver in the city. When Parson Police stopped the driver, Kristen Mattox-Graham, they discovered she had a Felony Warrant out of Newton County.
Mattox-Graham then fled from the area in her vehicle, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph during the pursuit that traveled out of town, ontogravel roads and eventually back into the city on U.S. Highway 59.
Mattox-Graham ultimately was arrested without incident and was taken to the Parsons Police Department Lockup.
A search of the vehicle discovered THC Edibles, a THC Vape Pen, a baggie of marijuana and well as rolled marijuana and paraphernalia.
Parsons Police are requesting the Labette County Attorney’s Office to file the following charges: Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Interference with Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, Speeding, No Insurance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Opiates, and other traffic offenses.
Mattox-Graham also is being held on a felony warrant out of Newton County, MO for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
