Freeman to host discussion on addiction and isolation

On Wednesday, March 29th Innovative Solutions is hosting their “Getting and Staying Connected” March discussion. This months event is hosted at Fellowship Hall at Central Christian Church, 410 Virginia Ave., Joplin, Mo. from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Wednesday, March 29 and will focus on addiction and isolation issues.

Addiction and isolation are common bedfellows for men and women rehabbing from sustained substance abuse. During these struggles, they may find themselves isolated for long periods of time. This month’s Innovation Solutions session hopes to eliminate those long bouts of loneliness by educating friends and family members to rally around loved ones struggling with mental health or substance use issues.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment Professionals from Ozark Center New Directions will educate interested parties about available community resources via information tables, discussions, and short briefings on addiction impact to families. Treatment options, crisis coping information, overdose detection and intervention services will be available at several information stations located throughout the church’s Fellowship Hall.

The monthly Innovation Solutions sessions are free to the public, with snacks and beverages available.
