Missouri Conservation Department Wants Public To Be Bear Aware
The Missouri Department of Conservation is reminding residents to ‘Be Bear Aware’.
It might sound cliché, but it’s not.
Missouri is home to an estimated 900 black bears with most being in the southern part of the state.
Now that it’s spring, black bears are on the lookout for food
Keep areas free of attractants to allow bears to find natural foods on their own and don’t offer them any either as intentionally feeding bears can be dangerous.
It also can make them comfortable around people.
