Suspected police murderer caught in eastern Missouri

A search for the man suspected of killing one police officer and badly wounding another at a small-town convenience store in eastern Missouri is over. The suspect, 35-year-old Kenneth Lee Simpson, has surrendered to authorities.
The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in Hermann, a town of 2,100 residents about 80 miles west of St. Louis.
Detective Sgt. Mason Griffith of the Hermann Police Department died, and 31-year-old Officer Adam Sullentrup was hospitalized in stable condition.
The manhunt was centered around a home not far from the shooting scene.
