Mo. Gov. Parson on transgender children
As the state of Missouri investigates allegations of poor patient care at a transgender clinic for children in St. Louis, Governor Mike Parson is voicing opposition to the practice.
During an interview on Missourinet affiliate KDRO in Sedalia, Parson said anyone wanting to transition to a different gender should have to wait until they’re an adult:
“We regulate when a kid can drive a car, when they can smoke, when they can drink, and (now) all of a sudden we want to say they can have some sort of life changing experience that affects them for the rest of their life — and they don’t get a second chance on that.”
An employee-turned-whistleblower at Washington University Transgender Center says numerous kids have been harmed by improper treatment.
A policy institute affiliated with Washington University is calling the whistleblower’s credibility into question.
