Crash claims life of Pittsburg High School student

A crash in southeast Kansas Thursday morning claimed the life of a Pittsburg High School student.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the two-vehicle accident happened at 7:48 am, when 18-year-old Josiah Le Fletcher was driving east on KS Highway 171, a few miles southeast of Pittsburg, and attempted to make a U-turn and was hit by a vehicle going west.

Fletcher was pronounced dead a short time later.

Pittsburg High School officials say counselors and support staff will be made available for grieving students.
