Missouri bill would ban parking meters on public streets
There are all kinds of bills in the Missouri State Legislature right now.
One would ban any city or county from charging people to park on the street.
That would mean cities couldn’t make money from parking meters.
The bill is sponsored by Kansas City-area Rep. Josh Hurlbert who doesn’t think drivers should be charged to park on public roads seeing it as double taxation.
Not everyone will support the bill.
St Louis City made a net revenue of $6 million in fiscal year 2022 just from on-street parking.
