Third annual Missouri Dairy Expo set for Jan. 20
CASSVILLE, Mo. – “Get outside your fence rows” is the theme of the 2023 Missouri Dairy Expo, Friday, Jan. 20, in Springfield.
“We’re encouraging dairy producers to come together and share ideas while learning,” said Reagan Bluel, University of Missouri Extension dairy specialist and educational director of Missouri Dairy. “We know it is hard to get off the farm, so we created a hard-to-miss schedule, all on one day, to ensure your time is well spent.”
“Missouri Dairy takes pride in serving the dairy industry by providing learning opportunities, social events and legislative representation,” said Missouri Dairy chairman Alfred Brandt.
Sessions include navigating today’s tight labor market, managing stress on the farm, an update on federal milk market reform and grant opportunities for dairy producers.
Leaders in the industry will be recognized in an evening ceremony. In addition to breed association awards, there will be awards recognizing state leaders in energy-corrected milk for both volume and component production.
The keynote speaker is Jesse Goff, a professor emeritus with Iowa State University and inventor of anionic salts. Goff will share tricks he’s learned over thousands of farm visits to ensure improved health for your transition pen.
“This event provides a fantastic opportunity to get off the farm to learn from industry professionals, but also from each other,” Bluel said. “We have take-home information that will put milk in the tank.”
The Missouri Dairy Expo is Jan. 20, 2023, at the Oasis Conference Center, 2546 N. Glenstone Ave., Springfield.
