9-year-old injured in northeast Oklahoma auto accident
A child was taken to a Joplin hospital after being involved an auto accident around 1:40 Monday afternoon on a road 7 miles north of Afton, Oklahoma.
The accident happened when a semi-truck driven by 43-year-old Scott Heronemus of Afton went out of control on the wet pavement while making a turn onto County Road EW 150.
Heronemus had minor injuries. A 9-year-old juvenile pinned inside the vehicle had to be removed by first responders.
The child suffered head injuries and was transported to a Joplin hospital for treatment.
