Man killed when car leaves Barton County roadway, hits tree

A man from Lockwood is dead after his 2011 Honda CRV went off Highway 160 about 7 miles east of Lamar late Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as the westbound vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

It happened around 10:35 Saturday morning.

Killed was 23-year-old Brett J. Walden of Lockwood.

He was pronounced dead at 10:56 a.m. at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar.
