Missouri Rep. Cori Bush Helps Introduce School Supplies Legislation
One member of congress representing Missouri helped introduce school-based legislation.
Missouri Representative Cori Bush is part of a trio of U.S. lawmakers introducing a piece of legislation that aims to provide students, teachers, librarians, and other support staff with school supplies at no cost.
The Access to School Supplies Act of 2022 would bolster federal investments in public schools by creating a $500 million pilot program.
The legislation also would improve student academic achievement in schools, including for low-income students.
Bush adds that the legislation is targeted toward high-poverty schools to ensure the resources are directed towards the students who are in need.
