JPD’s Duncan graduates from FBI National Academy
Joplin Police Department Captain Trevor Duncan graduated on Thursday as a member of the 284th session of the FBI National Academy.
The graduation took place at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training.
Captain Duncan began his law enforcement career at the Joplin Police Department in 2006 as a Police Officer and was selected to become a Detective in 2009. In 2012 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and on to Sergeant in 2013.
In 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Captain and has served over the Professional Standards Bureau, Investigations Bureau, and is currently the Captain over the Uniformed Operations Bureau.
While attending the FBI National Academy, Captain Duncan completed 5 master’s level courses through the University of Virginia Masters of Public Safety Program, which earned him a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Education.
