Missouri Senate President says this session will almost be a clean slate
There will be seven new Republican Senators as Republicans will hold a 24-10 majority in the chamber.
New Senate President, Caleb Rowden of Boone County says there are some issues he wants to address in the new session.
“We’re going to try and figure out how the priorities overlap to make sure we get most of those things done. Whatever the agenda is, we want to make sure we communicate to Missouians why it benefits them.”
One of the issues he wants to resurrect is legalizing sports betting in Missouri.
The new Senate will not have an organized “conservative caucus” -since it disbanded at the end of the 2022 session.
It was the source of infighting among the chamber’s Republicans.
