Former Commerce teacher identified as fire victim
Killed in Thanksgiving blaze
Many people remember 84-year-old Leanna Mustain of Commerce.
She worked as a Chemistry and Biology Teacher at Commerce Public Schools for 27 years. She graduated from Wyandotte High School and attended NEO in Miami and Pittsburg State University.
Fire officials now have identified Mustain as the woman who died in a Thanksgiving Day fire at 125 N. Maple Street in Commerce.
Oklahoma Fire Marshal Agent Judah Sheppard says the cause of the fire remains under investigation but no foul play is suspected.
Fire officials remind you to check your fireplaces and heaters and to make sure your smoke detectors are in good working order and have fresh batteries.
