Accident near Racine injures two, one seriously
An accident Friday evening on Kentucky Road about a mile east of Racine has injured two men, one seriously.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreck took place when a southbound GMC Sierra driven by 61-year-old Nathan L. Abernathy of Monroe, Georgia ran a stop sign and ploughed into an eastbound Lincoln Town Car driven by 80-year old Frank D. Thompson of Seneca.
Thompson was seriously injured. He was taken by ambulance to a Joplin hospital.
Abernathy’s injuries were described moderate. He went to the hospital by way of a private vehicle.
The Patrol says both men were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
