Parson to make announcement on Schmitt’s successor tomorrow morning
Who will be Missouri’s next Attorney General?
Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s office says an announcement will be made at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The office will become vacant in January after the election of Republican Eric Schmitt to the United States Senate. Schmitt will replace Roy Blunt who has chosen to retire.
Schmitt himself was appointed to the position after the election of Josh Hawley, who now occupies the state’s other Senate seat.
Schmitt will be sworn in in January.
Parson will also have to appoint a new state Treasurer.
The current Treasurer, Scott Fitzpatrick, was appointed State Auditor in November.
