Joplin Police and Swat Team engage in standoff in Cecil Floyd

On Tuesday afternoon Joplin Police accompanied by the SWAT team arrived to the 1800 block of west 21st street in the Cecil Floyd Neighborhood.

Police were initially called to the location on Monday in regard to a domestic dispute but the male suspect, who is being charged with first degree domestic assault, had fled. On Tuesday he returned to the home which prompted police to return.

Police surrounded the home and searched the neighboring areas. Police say there is no immediate threat to public safety.
