Missouri PSC Cold Weather Rule In Effect

Missouri’s Cold Weather Rule is currently in effect, which runs through March 31, 2023.

The rule applies to natural gas and electric utilities under Public Services Commission jurisdiction that provide heat-related service.

Ryan Silvey, Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission says that the rule affects those registered as elderly, disabled, or low income.

A customer who is registered with the utility company as elderly or disabled will receive additional notifications prior to a proposed discontinuance of service during the Cold Weather Rule period.

They also may be eligible for additional minimum payment arrangements.

For more information, visit PSC.MO.gov or call the commission’s Consumer Services hotline.
