Airport Drive accident injures motorcycle rider

An accident in Airport Drive Village about a mile north of Joplin just after 7:30 this  morning has resulted in injuries to a man from Webb City.

The Highway Patrol says the accident happened when a Ram 1500 driven by 18-year-old Trey D. Covey of Joplin, changed lanes and ran into the path of  a Honda motorcycle operated by 52-year-old John A. Covert of Webb City.

Covert suffered serious injuries. He was transported to a Joplin hospital.

Covey was not injured.
