Investigation after apparent train derailment at Silver Dollar City
UPDATE: Silver Dollar City has released this statement after the train derailment this evening:
Silver Dollar City confirms that earlier this evening, sections of the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train derailed from the track. Onsite paramedics provided emergency care until first responders arrived. Six guests and one employee have been transported by ambulance to nearby medical facilities.
At this time, we are wholeheartedly focused on providing support for guests and team members in partnership with Stone County first responders.
Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
Witnesses say the train at Branson’s Silver Dollar City derailed Wednesday evening.
Stone County Emergency Services say four people on board were taken to local hospitals for treatment of “non-life threatening” injuries.

This Facebook post from Kathy Raines Adams claims that crews have been rescuing people since the derailment occurred.
The state’s fire marshall’s office has been contacted to further investigate the accident.
