Neosho Police investigate apparent murder-suicide

Police in Neosho have identified the victims of what appears to be a murder-suicide.

On Sunday, officers from the Neosho Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Stratford Place in reference to a death investigation.

It was reported that a male and female were both found deceased in their home.

The subjects were identified as 87-year-old Charles Barnett and 78-year-old Donna Barnett of Neosho.

Upon further investigation, it appears the female was shot by her husband with a .38 caliber and died from her injuries. It also appears he then shot himself and died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
