Missouri Sports Hall of Fame to honor Dr. Robert Arnce

Dr. Robert Arnce, KCU-Joplin medical school assistant professor of primary care, will be named among the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame 2022 Elite11.

Arnce will be honored at a ceremony at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19  at the University Plaza Convention Center in Springfield, Missouri.

The award honors former high school, college and professional standouts who made positive impacts on the game.

An alumnus of Carl Junction High School, Arnce helped the Bulldogs win three conference championships, two district titles and advance to the 1983 state semifinals.

He was a state wrestling runner-up in 1985 despite an injury he incurred mid-season.

Dr. Arnce has practiced emergency medicine for nearly 30 years.

He graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1985.  He received his BA in Biology and Chemistry in 1989 from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and graduated in 1993 from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine in 1996 at the University of Louisville.

In addition to his teaching role at KCU, he  presently serves as an emergency room physician at Joplin’s Freeman Health System.
