Missouri toddler dies from gunshot wound in St. Louis

A toddler was pronounced dead at a hospital after he was shot in the head in south St. Louis on Monday.

The shooting happened at about 1 p.m. in the parking lot of an AutoZone on South Kingshighway. Police said the toddler was taken to the hospital by his parents, where he was listed in critical condition.

Customers of the auto store are still in shock, about the tragic incident. “Very sad, when you hear something like that, parents are supposed to be careful with gun(s),” said Ali Khudier.

Some customers said the shooting happened inside a vehicle on the parking lot.

“Evidentially, the parents had a gun in the car. It’s a tragedy. I’m sure the parents will live with this for the rest of their life,“ said Jerry Mumford.

At the moment, police are not disclosing information on how the toddler was shot. They are also not releasing details about who pulled the trigger or who owned the weapon.
