STEM, Criminal Justice Discovery Day events set for Oct. 7 at MSSU 

Joplin, MO – Nearly 200 students from area high schools have registered to attend one of two Discovery Day events on Friday, Oct. 7, at Missouri Southern State University.

Students will learn about the STEM and Criminal Justice programs during immersive sessions offered from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The STEM Discovery Day is a collaborative event hosted by the Biology and Environmental Health, Chemical and Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering Technology and Computer Information Science Departments. Students registered to attend three of six available sessions that will include hands-on experiences and meeting with faculty and students.

Missouri Southern’s Criminal Justice Department will host the Criminal Justice Discovery Day event. Participating students will tour the Mills-Anderson Justice Department, meet faculty and staff, and participate in a question-and-answer session.

Following their respective sessions, students will attend the annual Homecoming picnic on the Oval and have the opportunity to take a campus tour.
