Something new in Spiva Park
Something new is coming to downtown Joplin.
A new park sign for Spiva Park at 4th and Main is slated for 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The public is invited to attend.
A number of dignitaries and business leaders will be present, including members of the Joplin City Council.
The park is named in honor of the late George Spiva, a Joplin businessman and patron of the arts. A statue of Spiva sitting on a bench is part of the park.
Spiva died in 1967.
