Fatal crash claims life of Neosho man

A crash in Neosho Tuesday has claimed the life of a 74-year-old man. Read the press release below:

On September 20, 2022, at approximately 1435 hours, the Neosho Police Department was dispatched to a traffic crash near Highway 86 and Baxter Street.

The crash occurred as a 2022 Buick Encore traveling eastbound on Highway 86 struck the rear of a 2021 Hyundai Elantra which was stopped in the left-hand turn lane.

The driver of the Buick was identified as 74-year-old Charles Hixson of Neosho, who was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Newton County Coroner’s Office. The next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Shirayne Rabualiman 21-year-old from Neosho. Ms. Rabualiman was treated and released on scene by the Newton County Ambulance. There were no other passengers involved.
