Coltharp to continue as Royal Heights Principal through current school year

The Joplin R-VIII School System says Dr. Glenn Coltharp will be staying on as principal at Royal Heights Elementary School for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.

He has been acting as interim principal of the school since August.

Coltharp recently retired as President of Crowder College. Before that, he was a Vice President at Crowder and before that served in the MSSU School of Education.

Early in his career, Dr. Coltharp served at the K-12 level as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, middle school and elementary principal.

He was also Principal of the Missouri State School for the Severely Handicapped and has taught kindergarten, second, and fourth grades.
