Carthage woman arrested after allegedly intentionally ramming motorcycle
A woman from Carthage is facing second degree assault charges after a wreck she allegedly caused. Read the full press release below:
On August 29, 2022, at approximately 11:01 AM, the Joplin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a call of a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle vs passenger car. Officers responded to the area of 7th and Pearl Ave. and located one adult female and one adult male who were operating the motorcycle. Information was obtained that the other vehicle involved, a white passenger car, had left the scene.
During the investigation officers determined this began as a road rage incident and the driver of the white passenger car intentionally rammed the motorcycle. A short time later the suspect vehicle was located, and the driver was taken into custody for the assault.
The suspect is identified as Shinia Hartman, 23 years of age of Carthage, MO. Charges have been submitted for 2nd Degree Assault to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office.
The female passenger on the motorcycle was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
