New Law Allows Student Athletes In MO To Profit From NIL
Just in time for football season, a new law in Missouri will allow student athletes to profit from the use of their name, image, and likeness.
The new law will let some college coaches, athletic department workers, and other university employees assist with opportunities for student athletes to earn money from a third party.
Under the bill, the coaches and school employees cannot serve as the athlete’s agent.
They are also banned from receiving money from the athlete or a third-party company.
The provision was added onto a bill that designates the third week of September as Historically Black College and University Week in Missouri.
