Mentalist performance among MSSU events planned for coming week
Joplin, MO – Mentalist Mark Toland, an award-winning mystery entertainer, will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, in Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium at Missouri Southern State University.
Toland has been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS and NPR. In 2019, he served as artist-in-residence at the Chicago Magic Lounge for his hit show “Mind Reader.” A two-time TEDx speaker, he has also toured internationally and served as a featured performer at Disney World.
Admission to his performance at Missouri Southern is free and open to the public.
Other activities set for the week of Aug. 29 include the first home football game of the season and the university president’s annual ice-cream social.
Monday, Aug. 29
“Five Stars”: Spiva Gallery. The exhibit features works by student artists inspired by their trip to the Czech Republic. It will run through Sept.1st. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Tuesday, Aug. 30
President’s Ice-Cream Social: 11 to 12:30, on the Oval. Dr. Van Galen and other members of the campus administration will great students with a cold treat.
Grocery bingo: 12:20 p.m., Lion’s Den. Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, students will have the opportunity to play for prizes.
Wednesday, Aug. 31
Mentalist Mark Toland: 7 p.m., Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium.
Thursday, Sept. 1
FYE Freshmen Tailgate: 5 p.m., Lot 18, south of Fred Hughes Stadium. Sponsored by the First Year Experience program, freshmen can grab some swag and a bite to eat before the game.
Football vs. Nebraska-Kearney: 7 p.m., Fred Hughes Stadium. Tickets are $10-$13 can be purchased at the gate or by clicking here.
Friday, Sept. 2
Women’s Soccer vs. Rockhurst: 6 p.m., Hal Bodon Field. General admission is $5. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or by clicking here.
