Former Barry County Sheriff, Gary Davis, dies

A longtime area law enforcement officer has died.

The Barry County Sheriff’s Office announced today the passing of former Sheriff, Gary Davis.

Davis passed away at his home on Thursday, August 18.

Davis served in law enforcement for over 30 years.

Prior to becoming Barry’s County’s top officer, he served as an agent for the FBI.

He became Sheriff after his retirement from the FBI.

Davis was Barry County Sheriff from 2017 – 2020.

Funeral service will be conducted through White Funeral Home in Cassville. although plans remain pending at this time.
