Casey’s partnering with Joplin Schools on Back-to-School Supply Drive
JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin Schools welcomes Casey’s General Stores as new district partners, and celebrates the stores’ commitment to supporting Joplin students and classrooms through their Back-to-School Supply Drive.
Joplin Casey’s manager Michael Snearly, whose North Rangeline location will donate their collected supplies to Royal Heights Elementary School, said he’s especially proud of the local stores stepping up to help in this way.
“We’ve always wanted to have a strong presence in the community, and in many ways we do,” Snearly said. “But we also have a desire to help the kids and show our neighborhood schools that we’re in their corner.”
All Joplin Casey’s locations and two Duquesne locations are participating in the supply drive.
“The idea is that each of the stores are going to share these donated supplies with the elementary school closest to them,” Snearly said, noting that store managers intend to build an ongoing presence in their neighborhood schools. “We’d like to host pizza parties, teacher appreciation days, and find ways to celebrate students when they reach their goals.”
Local residents are invited to bring school supplies to participating Casey’s locations now through Aug. 19. Collection boxes are set up near the checkout counters. People interested in helping are encouraged to donate items from Joplin Schools’ supply lists, which can be found at www.joplinschools.org/ on the Parents/Students tab.
