Diamond breaks ground on secure entrances for elementary, middle school buildings
DIAMOND, MO – The Diamond R-IV School District broke ground for new secure entrances for the Elementary and Middle School buildings and renovation of the High School entrance on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. On June 22, 2022, the Board of Education voted unanimously to proceed with the construction of the new secure entrances as phase one of the district strategic plan. Architectural design and a districtwide strategic plan was completed by Hight Jackson Associates in conjunction with Allgeier, Martin & Associates. Construction will be completed by Branco Enterprises Inc.
The new entrance at the Elementary building, located at the North end of the building, will include a double entry to allow for a secure entrance into the building, a large atrium, new school offices, and a conference room.
The new entrance for the Middle School building will also include a double entry to allow for a secure entrance into the building, updated offices, and a conference room. Additionally, the concession stand at the Middle School will be renovated.
The High School renovation will include a double entry to allow for a secured entrance and renovation of the reception area.
Funding for this project has been saved over time by the district in their capital projects fund.
