Golden City man injured in towing accident

An accident that occurred when one vehicle was towing an ATV in Golden City has left a man from that community with serious injuries.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the accident happened just before 11 yesterday morning on Highway 160 East of Main Street in Golden City.

The Patrol says 51-year-old Michael McClain fell from an eastbound Suzuki ATV that was being towed by a pickup truck.

McClain suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Joplin hospital.

The pickup was being driven by 59-year-old Michael L. Heath of Golden City.

Heath was not injured.
