Two injured in Saturday night wreck near Joplin

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident on Schifferdecker Avenue about a mile north of Joplin around 10:30 Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place when a Toyota 4Runner driven by 39-year-old Bret J. Mabe of Lamar traveled off the right side of the roadway.

The driver overcorrected, the vehicle went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Mabe and a passenger, 34-year-old Luther P. Sherman of Joplin, were transported to Joplin hospitals for treatment.

Both suffered moderate injuries.
